Rachel Starr

Rachel Starr is a dedicated and accomplished member of the Mat Shark BJJ academy. She serves as the assistant coach for the Kids class, demonstrating her passion for nurturing young athletes in the sport. Rachel's dedication to Jiu-Jitsu is evident through her achievements, including winning double gold at events like the South-West Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championships, triumphing in a super fight within the organisation GSF and achieving the gold medal at the Pan-Pacific championship in Melbourne in 2023.  
 

Like many of the Mat Shark coaching staff her love for training and coaching extends beyond her own pursuits, as all three of her children are actively involved in training and competing in Jiu-Jitsu as well. Rachel's commitment to the sport is further emphasized by her regular presence at the club where she trains most nights, and her active participation in numerous Jiu-Jitsu events, where her support and enthusiasm contribute to the Jiu-Jitsu community.
